My new love

While I was away I received my first order from a new on-line library I discovered, The Book Depository. I have to say that I am truly in love with this site and how can I not be since their shipping costs to Romania are zero. I couldn’t believe it when I read it the first time, but after I ordered my first items and received them in excellent conditions I live a dream. And believe me, my pockets are a little fuller after such an order since my orders from other such sites had some pretty high shipping costs. I usually put money aside for bigger orders, because that way the average costs of books, with the shipping costs included, were a little cheaper than many of the Romanian editions. On The Book Depository the prices are a just a bit higher than Amazon, but that’s absolutely no problem, since I can save a lot of money from the shipping costs. And who knows, this might mean new bookshelves for my library.

Ah.. the bookdepository is good. Unfortunately they are not as well stocked as Amazon but they are certainly cheaper.

I see that they got positive reactions :D
And maybe this way they'll increase their stock too :)

I know about them but never checked their site because Amazon.de has tons of English books in stock and gets me those they don't have in stock from the US or UK free of shipping, too. But I'm glad to hear you found a way to get English books in Romania without sacrificing your firstborn in shipping costs.

Now, if Amazon.de only would stock some more French and Swedish books as well, or get them for me free of shipping. :)

Great to hear! Hopefully you have enough space to store all the books you will buy :>).

Like Gabriele I'm happy with amazon.de

I understand the inclination toward Amazon. When it comes to prices they are really good and they have also great promotions. However, my option for The Book Depository is based very much on their shipping costs :D

Gabriele, I hope you find a way to get those French and Swedish books :)

Que?!?! I thought EVERYONE used BookDep?!? They're cheaper than visiting my local book store here in Australia, they're cheaper than all the amazons or ANY other online retailer (even with the recent price rises), they don't stock the occasional book but they have more than enough. I've even found books cheaper on there than in a second-hand book store.

Also with each book individually packed you're not waiting on all 5 books in an order just because one isn't in stock. I had one book that got lost in the mail and they sent it again to me for free.

I've gushed about these guys everywhere I can 'cause frankly they are my number one source for cheap new fantasy and sci-fi (and other!) books.

Can you tell that I love 'em? :)

Jebus, you pointed all their qualities :)
And I loved also to see that each book was packed individually and so they were not damaged at all in the shipping process. The Book Depository is great :)
