I finished a Science Fiction novel, “Abaţia” by Dan Doboş, and I’ll start to work soon on the review to show a glimpse of Romanian speculative fiction. Soon I’ll finish also Bill Hussey’s “The Absence”, but until I post that review too I want to try a feature that I was very curious about. I’ll run a poll for my next reading after the three ones you see on the left and to make a new interaction with the readers of my blog. So, if you want me to read one of the following titles next, please cast your vote:
- “Nights of Villjamur” by Mark Charan Newton
- “The Red Wolf Conspiracy” by Robert V.S. Redick
- “Blood of Elves” by Andrzej Sapkowski
- “The Way of Shadows” by Brent Weeks
Thank you very much :)

I'm curious about what you'd think about 'Blood of Elves'. On the other hand, they left out a book between 'The Last Wish' and 'Blood of Elves' in the english translation. So the story will probably make no sense. Just wanted to say it. It's not the author's fault if it doesn't.

I vote The Red Wolf Conspiracy, just because I so badly want to read it myself! I've got Nights of Villjamur coming up, same with Blood of Elves, and still have to buy The Way of Shadows, so yes, The Red Wolf Conspiracy. :-)
I think you should read "Dog Days" by John Levitt...
Oh wait. That wasn't one of the choices!!!
Well. Hmph.
What a choice!
I vote for Nights of Villjamur.
I read The Way of Shadows and liked it. My copy of The Red Wolf Conspiracy should be delivered by end of April. I have some difficulties with Blood Elves. Not with the story more with the release of the books in different languages and countries. When Blood Elves is the second book of the WITCHER series then I own the German edition - title Das Schwert der Vorsehung. That means translated to English The Sword of Destiny. I don't know why publishers try to confuse readers in different countries.
blood of elves definatly!
I would be interested in seeing what you think about Blood of Elves.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts on "The Absence!"
@ediFanoB: it's less a matter of different titles than a matter of leaving out one book. It should be 'The Last Wish' -> 'The Sword of Destiny' -> 'Blood of Elves'. But the english publisher left - for some unknown reason - 'Sword of Destiny' out. 'Blood of Elves' is the third book in the Witcher series, or in other words the first novel in the series, because 'Sword of Destiny' is another collection of short-stories. It introduces a VERY important character, though, which makes the leaving out this book a VERY stupid decision.

Puck, I really liked "The Last Wish" and I find Andrzej Sapkowski a very talented writer. I hope that all his books will be translated :)
Dave, I am very curious about "The Red Wolf Conspiracy".
Maria, thank you for recommendation :)
Michael, "The Nights of Villjamur" has quite some positive reviews already :)
Adele & Maria, I have to say that my personal choice will be "The Blood of Elves" :)
Ben, you have a great review of "The Absence" :)
I vote anything but red wolf because it seems that everyone is reviewing it lately, and I'd love to see your opinion when I can get a chance to read it later in the months :(.
So If I had to pick then Blood of Elves!
Cindy, I hope you'll read "The Red Wolf Conspiracy" soon :)
I'd be interested in whatever views you might have on Nights of Villjamur. On the other hand, I really wish that Sapkowski would get more buzz. So my vote is for either book I guess. :)
I hope to read it soon too, I've waited a whole year for it.
Then again the other books you mentioned I've waited to read to.
I just finished Red Wolf, so I'm curious about what you will think.
I read a little bit from Abatia - have Blestemul Abatiei and Pletele Sf. Augustin too - and I plan to finish it one day; curious about the review :)
Regarding the books here, I was less than impressed with Last Wish, but I want to try Blood of Elves when it gets released here in the US later this month.
The rest are all big-time favorites of mine, so it's very hard to decide - literary and as depth Nights of Viljamur is a class above, but it's not really fantasy, more a far future decaying and very old Earth sf in the style of Jack Vance or Gene Wolfe with a dash of MJH and Mieville in; The Red Wolf Conspiracy and Way of Shadows are page turners that would keep you reading deep into the night.
I would say read all 3, with Nights in between the fast ones, for a change of pace :)
While Night Angel is completed and Mr. Weeks will do something else before following on the stunning ending of the trilogy, I have promises for the second installments of the other two series asap from the authors and each are "drop anything I read and start them" the moment they arrive
Tia, I am looking forward to this debut coverage on your blog too :)
Liviu, I'll read all this titles (the winner first :D), because they all appeal to me. "Abatia" is an interesting novel (I don't have the sequels yet) and I believe that deserves to reach the English language market too :)
Benjamin, I would like to promote Sapkowski more, because I liked "The Last Wish" a lot and I would like to read all his novels. Maybe they'll be published in English very soon :)
I vote for Nights of Villjamur by Mark Charan Newton. I haven't read any of these books yet, but if I was to pick one up today it would be this one.
Jamesy, it looks like it will be the winner :)
