It's good to be home!

Hi everybody :) It is good to be home and it is even better after a pretty tiring travel, but with many good things too. Today the schedule is pretty tight as it always is after such a travel, but from tomorrow I can start working on my reviews (as I have 4 to write). Also tomorrow I believe I’ll be able to post the interview with my next guest of fantasy art posts. I’ve noticed that last week you had a lot of fun in the comments, with some links to erotic shops and Turkish car rentals. Well as much as I am pleased with my blog being seen as a source of publicity I don’t see how these links (or should I say spam?) are related with the content of my blog. Therefore, although I would like to make the access to comments easier I see myself in the position to add a new security measure. I’ll add the comment approval too, because I’ll try to limit these irrelevant comments. Nothing to worry for the usual comments, they will pass without a problem. I hope that this measure will not annoy you too much, please excuse me if it does.

Spam is the downside of popularity.

Sadly so, and the drawback of moderating comments is that it inhibits the discourse since after all you are not going to be there 24 hours a day and the Web is truly global.

I am oscillating between renouncing moderation on FBC and keeping it since spam has been more manageable recently, but I am afraid the spammers will come back since I think they have a database of sites that moderate and avoid them; in the FBC gmail we still get tons of spam...

sucks that you're getting spammed so hard. Nice to have you back though.

Liviu, I know that the moderating can inhibit, but I'll try to see how it works out. I've seen that I could delete those comments, but maybe moderating makes it a bit easier. Anyway, I'll eperiment a little.

Adele, it is quite annoying. Thank you very much, it is nice to be back :D

One thing I noticed about the spammers is they tend to go away after a while. I had a Chinese spammer for a few weeks a while back, but I took down his comments every time he left one. Eventually, he went away.

So you might want to leave moderation up for a couple of weeks, then take it down and see if the problem went away.

Tia, that's an useful advise, thank you :) I should try in the next couple of weeks to see what happens.
